Nassau

Nassau, to me, is not so much a game as it is a style of wagering that can be applied to almost any other game or format of golf. The rules are simple, you are just breaking the wagers up by the front 9, the back 9, and all 18. This game can be played with 2 to 4 people.

  • First you will want to pick your playing format. For the sake of this discussion, lets say you only have a 2-some and decide to play match play.

  • Choose how much you want to wager for each of the 3 bets. (We typically play $5-$5-$5)

  • In the example we chose, you would keep track of a match score for the front 9, back 9, and then the whole 18. Whomever wins each part of the match would win the pot for that bet.

This keeps things simple and builds in a way for someone who played a bad 9 to have a chance at salvaging part of the round. It's also an easy format to use presses in, which make it a lot more interesting.
